Span Alaska Brings Hope to Haiti

Span Alaska, under the leadership of Senior Logistics Manager Gail Hemstead, successfully organized a Mission of Hope Food packing event on Saturday, March 1. The objective was to assemble and pack 50,000 meals for children in Haiti within two hours. With the Span Alaska team’s unwavering commitment and the volunteers’ collective efforts, Mission of Hope surpassed its target by packing an impressive 52,000 meals! This achievement is a true testament to the compassion and teamwork displayed by everyone involved.
Mission of Hope was founded in 1998 and aims to transform lives in the Caribbean through spirituality, education, and food security. The organization helps ensure regular access to sufficient food while supporting the needs of communities, families, and individuals. They achieve this through collaborative efforts with local partners, leaders, government agencies, farmers, and beneficiaries. Their comprehensive strategy encompasses short-term and long-term solutions, particularly prioritizing school support. Mission of Hope recognizes food’s crucial role in facilitating quality education. Additionally, they work closely with pastors, local government, and community leaders to effectively distribute food resources and address critical food intervention needs in communities.

Span Alaska is honored and thrilled to collaborate with Mission of Hope, an organization of tremendous importance in our community. Their unwavering dedication to tackling food insecurity aligns perfectly with our commitment to positively impacting the lives of those in need. Together, we are stronger and more determined than ever to create a brighter future for individuals and communities facing food insecurity.
