Matson adds the MV R.J. Pfeiffer to its fleet in 1992. The vessel is the fastest and biggest containership currently operating in the U.S. domestic offshore trade. It has a capacity for 1,650 containers (24-foot equivalent units), is 713 feet in length and maintains a service speed of 22 1/2 knots.
